March Chapter Meeting - March 10, 2008

"GREAT RIVER ENERGY – GOING FOR PLATINUM"

Please join us for the Chapter March meeting at Dave and Busters Restaurant in Maple Grove, MN.  We will be learning more about the Great River Energy LEEDS platinum project.  Our program will include presentations by McGough Construction and Perkins + Will Architects.

Kenneth D. Potts, AIA, LEED AP, Director of Sustainability for McGough Construction will discuss the General Contractor’s approach to innovative new concrete mixes and low-VOC products.

Mariaha Dean will discuss McGough’s efforts to reduce construction waste at the site, IAQ, field training and monitoring compliance buy sub contractors.

Edward Heinen, CSI, CCS, LEED AP and Specification Writer for Perkins and Will’s Minneapolis office will review specifying for a LEED Platinum project.

Douglas Pierce, Senior Associate, AIA LEED AP will give an overview of Great River Energy and the innovations included at the site including the wind turbine.

We plan to provide a virtual slide show tour of the building.

6:30 PM to 8:00 PM     Presentation

The presentation will provide AIA and CSI approved Continuing Education Credits.
