MSUM and NHCC Partnership Offers Flexibility in Campus Location
(Moorhead, MN) … Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) and North Hennepin Community College have partnered to offer a bachelor’s degree-granting program in Construction Management.
Students can now attend classes at North Hennepin Community College or on the MSU Moorhead campus and earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
The MSUM Construction Management degree program is the only one in Minnesota that is accredited by the American
Council of Construction Education (ACCE). ACCE is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as the accrediting agency for four year baccalaureate degree programs in construction.
According to Scott Seltveit, MSUM’s Construction Management Program Coordinator, giving students the choice of staying in the Minneapolis area or coming to Moorhead makes obtaining a degree a lot more convenient for students.
“We’re reaching out to students who want to further their education but may be want to stay in the metro area,” he says.
Seltveit also says the program prepares students for leadership positions in the construction industry by offering a combination of construction, business and management, engineering, and general education courses. “Demand is extremely high and our job placement rate is one-hundred percent,” Seltveit says.
Minnesota State University Moorhead, located in western Minnesota on the North Dakota-Minnesota border, offers more than 70 majors and nearly 100 areas of concentration.
