TOPIC
Gerald Norman, Senior Building Code Representative in the plan review section of the State Construction Codes & Licensing Division will join us to discuss the new 2006 International Building Code. The new code is expected to be adopted by the State of Minnesota early in 2007. Jerry will highlight the major changes from the current 2000 IBC.

Later that afternoon, Nestor Sanchez, Manager Architectural Systems for USG Building Systems, Inc. will discuss fire resistant partitions, floor/ceiling and roof ceiling systems used in commercial and residential construction. Nestor has extensive knowledge of the ASTM standards used to test rated assemblies. Prior to working for USG, Nestor worked for Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. in Northbrook, IL as a manager of systems testing.

Please plan to spend the afternoon with your CSI friends learning more about the most recent changes in the building code and passive fire restraint.
