Candidate for Institute Director

J. Gerard Capell, AIA, CSI, CCS

It is my desire as Institute Director for the North Central Region to assist the Chapters, Region and Institute become as effective and prosperous as possible.  That means helping the Chapters serve their members in becoming more productive and knowledgeable, and seeing that the chapters are a valuable asset to their community.
That means leading a Region that can assist its chapters find solutions to their problems and use the resources from other chapters, Institute or other organizations.

That means providing the Institute with the best advice possible, derived from the membership, to see that it has the direction to spend it funds and resources as wisely and efficiently as possible to serve the membership and staff at Institute.

A special concern of mine is the continued support and growth of the certification program which is CSI’s strongest program to encourage membership, improve the design and construction industry for CSI members and non-members alike, and provide a viable funding source as chapters look to doing more for their members without raising dues.

CSI, its programs and members, has made a significant impact on my personal and professional life and I want to contribute to the organization’s continued success, and help others get as much out of CSI as I have. Therefore, I ask for your vote as Institute Director so that I may do so.

William J. McHugh, Jr., MBA, CSI

One of the first industry association meetings I attended after completing an MBA in 1981 was a Chicago Chapter CSI Monthly Meeting.  Since then, CSI has given me the opportunity to meet, learn the industry from, and become a resource to specifiers across the country in my areas of expertise.  As a 26 year CSI member, I have had the opportunity to serve at Chapter, Region and Institute in many capacities bringing experience and insight to share selflessly.  As an association executive with construction industry experience, I understand the value of CSI membership currently and what it can be in the future.  CSI has accomplished great things in the industry for which we should be proud.  Together with this board, I offer experience and vision needed to build on past successes for this and the next generation of CSI.
