Tour and Presentation of The Westin, Minneapolis (formerly the Farmer and Mechanics Bank Building)

Join us on Decem ber 10th for an opportunity to tour The Westin Minneapolis Hotel.  This project consisted of converting the historic Farmer and Mechanics Bank Building and accompany 10 story office tower into a 214-key, 214,000 square feet, luxury hotel complete with a restaurant, bar, and conference.  The project team was lead by the Ryan Companies US, Inc. (design-builder) and consisted of Elness, Swenson, Graham (architect) and Meyer, Borgman, and Johnson (structural engineer). Registration will begin at 4:00 PM followed by tours from 4:30 – 5:15 PM. Social gathering at 5:30 PM followed by Dinner, Chapter Meeting and evening program until 8:00 PM at Hilton Hotel, Minneapolis.  For more information, click here

Introduction to Construction Documents - January 17, 2008

Save the Date!  The Minneapolis-St. Paul Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute will be providing an Introduction to Construction Documents Course on January 17, 2008 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.  This will be a one day course providing a good base for those wishing to increase their knowledge of construction industry practices.  The format will include an overview of CSI’s Project Resource Manual (PRM) and can provide a good foundation for individuals planning on taking the Certified Documents Technology exam.  Architects, engineers, interns, product representatives, contractors and others in the construction industry will benefit from this course. In conjunction with the University of Minnesota’s College of Design, the 2008 Product Showcase Committee has sent out the Exhibitor’s Registration Forms, and we are expecting a full house – filled with exciting new product and service innovations. The Chapter Awards committee is seeking nominations for FY 07 Institute Honors & Awards to be presented at the National Convention i n 2008.

Review the Institute Awards and their criteria (see the subsequent pages of this form) and nominate an organization, firm, or individual whose talent, achievements, or notable contributions to the construction industry have been in support of the goals of CSI, our Region, and our Chapter.

CALL  FOR  FELLOWSHIP NOMINATIONS

It is time to consider the outstanding achievements and notable contributions of our CSI members and associates.

The Chapter Awards committee is seeking nominations for FELLOWSHIP to be presented at the National Convention in 2008.

Fellowship nominees shall be members of the Institute for at least five years and have made notable contributions to the advancement of construction technology; to the improvement of construction specifications; or education; or in service to the Institute. The honor is conferred to current members.

 

Please nominate any Chapter member whose talent, achievements and notable contributions to the construction industry that you believe should be presented to the Jury of Fellows for consideration for Fellowship.
