Ah, the holidays,
what a wonderful time of year. I hope this season finds everyone
healthy and happy.
The holidays are a time for family and friends so we thought it
fitting to have our December meeting be about our CSI family.
We are fortunate to have such a storied history, one which includes
a tight knit group that has evolved through our chapter’s
almost fifty years.
We are also fortunate to have several members of long standing
willing to share with us their insights on CSI, our chapter, our
chapter’s history, and so much more. There are eight people
who will make up our “history panel” at the December
meeting. Sharing their memories with us will be: Rod L. Erickson,
CCS, Don Hammer, Angie Percich, CCS, Jim Kellett, CCS, CCCA, Jim
Bublitz, Wally Neal, Audrey Brucker, and Wayne Brock, FCSI. As
you may know, Wayne Brock is my father; so this is very special
to me.
All of these members have personally committed their time and
energy to our chapter over many years. Donating your talents to
the chapter is a theme I have grabbed onto this year. We will
always need more volunteers; more talented individuals to share
their knowledge and skills. The December meeting will allow each
of us to reflect on our past, and think about what we can do to
be a part of our future. As the construction educators we are
only limited by the limits we set for ourselves. Let’s look
with broad eyes to the future. I hope to see you at the chapter
meeting. Best wishes to all of you. |
